Peopleline opens VoIP store in Vancouver

Peopleline Inc. announced a date for the grand opening of the company’s first VoIP store in Vancouver, Canada, today: September 1. Already Peopleline promises more outlets, with Peopleline CEO Ed Gallagher saying that the Vancouver outlet “will be used as a model for other openings in the New Year.”

Peopleline sees the new outlet as both unique and essential to their business. According to Gallagher, there are two masses to which they must appeal: those users in local communities who don’t wish to sign up for VoIP online, and those members of the general public to whom VoIP is still a relatively unknown entity. “The new store,” said Gallagher, “the first of its kind devoted to VoIP, is expected to address [these groups] and to boost sales.” Peopleline was established in 1998 to develop and sell VoIP / FoIP products and services to service providers around the Globe.

The Peopleline brand of retail IP telephony services to local users was launched in Canada in 2004. Peopleline products run on Sun and Linux platforms, are compatible with Cisco gateways, and support both SIP and H323 devices.
