Skype for Oz

Twin announcements emanated from Australia’s IW Distribution this morning. Firstly came the news that IW Distribution had launched their VoSKY Exchange, said to be the first Skype-certified solution for the business enterprise.

Designed for businesses of 10 to 300 employees, VoSKY Exchange jacks into the PBX on one end and a Windows XP computer on the other, connecting in turn to a PBX and a broadband connection. This means that four Skype lines can exist on a single PBX, theoretically allowing Skype calls on every phone extension in an office.

Hours later, IW representatives were able to announce the signing of an exclusive representation agreement with Infoaction to cover the Australia and New Zealand markets with “the full range of Skype certified products.” IW has already launched Skype products Chatterbox and USB Phone, and new Skype certified solutions include VoSKY Exchange and VoSKY Call Centre.

The VoSKY Call Centre is a fully Skype certified ATA which allows the user to make or receive Skype calls from any handset in the house or office. Users can even route calls from the call centre to mobile phones and vice versa.
