Salesforce for Singapore Airlines

The folks at Salesforce.com know how to roll with the PR. Still in the warm afterburn of their announcements yesterday, the on-demand biggies today announced that Singapore Airlines has deployed Salesforce SFA and Salesforce Marketing to foster collaboration and information sharing among its telecommuting sales representatives. The company leveraged some fourteen applications from the AppExchange directory. Among the deployed applications were Activity Management; Survey Management, Audit Management, Salesforce for Google AdWords; Advanced Reporting and Dashboards; User Adoption Dashboard; Census Population; Auto vCard; and Access Hoover’s.

Singapore Airlines has recently moved the majority of its sales team to a home office environment, but still keeps a large number in the field. The decision to take on said applications was “to facilitate the collaboration between different sales people.”

Singapore Airlines is scheduled to take delivery of two new aircraft types, namely the Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) and the Airbus A380. SIA made aviation-industry distinction history in February 2004 with the world’s longest non-stop commercial flight between Singapore and Los Angeles on the Airbus A340-500. In June 2004, SIA launch even longer non-stop commercial flights between Singapore and Newark, N.J., using the big bird.
