Low-end CRM

Low-end CRM applications are beginning to offer increasingly sophisticated customization. This is helping them to maintain their position in an increasingly competitive market and provide a solution to companies that have complex business processes but their pockets are not deep enough to afford the enterprise-level solutions.

The enterprise resource planning/CRM/e-commerce applications bundle from NetSuite has NetFlex, which provides it with the flexibility and standards compliance. Multiforce, which is a part of the Salesforce.com system, enables users to incorporate new features and applications into the solution.

The key to enabling easy customizability is to allow users to customize their product without having to bother about the source code. The customization tools of Salesforce.com and NetSuite are called Customforce and AppBuilder, respectively. computerworld.com says:

NetSuite and Salesforce.com both offer their customization functions at no extra cost to customers of their full-featured editions. Both are hosted service providers that maintain and manage their applications on a subscription basis.
