HMS now Salesforce’s

Three new developments over at Salesforce.com have hit the news as of late. Firstly, naturally, was the big money deal. Salesforce.com representatives have announced that health care provider data manufacturer Health Market Science, Inc. has chosen the salesforce.com AppExchange platform to customize its Salesforce SFA application. HMS chief marketing officer Matt Wallach claims that past Salesforce products have “improved our overall operations” and credits salesforce.com with a 600 percent growth rate in the last three years.

HMS also deployed a pair of applications from the AppExchange. These include the salesforce.com event management application and RingLead, an application designed to weed out duplicated data. HMS integrated its customized Salesforce solution with its website in the hopes of automatic capturing, loading into Salesforce and distribution to the appropriate sales representative. Next up, the company plans to mobile-enable its workforce via integration of pocket PCs that allow sales to access Salesforce while on the road. King of Prussia, Penn.-based Health Market Science is the leading American manufacturer of health care provider data.

The HMS Provider Master File now includes detailed reference information for over 4.5 million individual providers and one million healthcare organizations. HMS serves numerous segments of health care, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechs, device manufacturers, payers, providers, and pharmacy chains. The company bills itself as the 42nd fastest growing private company in the United States and boasts more than 125 customers. The second and third announcements concerned salesforce.com representatives appearing for presentations. Chief strategy officer Tien Tzuo will presenting to the RBC and Goldman Sachs Investor Bus Tours on June 13, 2006 at salesforce.com’s San Francisco headquarters. Chief financial officer Steve Cakebread will present at the 2006 Credit Suisse Boston Software Conference on June 14 in Boston, Mass. Salesforce.com is the market and technology leader in on-demand business services. The company currently manages customer information for nearly 23,000 customers and approximately 444,000 paying subscribers. Salesforce.com clientele includes Advanced Micro Devices, America Online, Cendant Rental Car Group, Dow Jones newswires, Nokia, Polycom and SunTrust.
