Catch the (Forrester) wave

Analysts at Forrester Research Inc. are primed to release a tantalizing sounding report entitled “The Forrester Wave – Enterprise CRM Suites, Q1 2007: Which Enterprise CRM Application Is The Best?” However, the results will remain a bit of a tease for about a week longer.

In the study, Forrester evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of the top 13 CRM enterprise suite vendors – Amdocs, Chordiant, Infor CRM, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, mySAP CRM, Onyx, Oracle’s eBusiness Suite CRM, Oracle’s Siebel CRM, Oracle’s Siebel On Demand CRM, Oracle’s PeopleSoft CRM, Pegasystems, RightNow, and salesforce.com – across a whopping 490 criteria.

Though some hints about which products will be among the list, the specifics won’t be divulged until a teleconference to be broadcast on February 13 at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. To get the teleconference, go to the Forrester homepage or call 1.866.FORRESTER.

In the meantime, you can check out an article entitled “CRM software rankings tell a familiar tale” by Barney Beal over at SearchCRM.com. Beal reveals that Siebel CRM and Germany’s SAP AG were named the leaders in the report and manages to get report co-author Bill Band to kick in some nice quotes as well.

“It was a bit of a surprise to us that some of the mid-market suite vendors have become credible for the enterprise market,” Band said. “They’re definitely a legitimate option, where they may not have been two years ago.”
