Agresso to be aggressive in America

Agresso, a providers of enterprise resource planning solutions worldwide has announced an (what else?) “aggressive entry” into the North American software market. The company will be competing in the mid-market space of organizations representing capital of US $50 million to US $1 billion. Agresso PR is fully confident and knowledgeable that the firm will now be competing squarely against the traditional vendors Lawson, Deltek, Microsoft and Oracle.

The Agresso launch is centered on the theme “ERP … with NO Expiration Date,” and Agresso strategy will target professional services and public sector organizations characterized by dynamic levels of business change and leveraging the company’s massive installation base in the commercial services sector; architecture, engineering and construction firms; IT services organizations; not-for-profit companies; and public sector organizations.

Newly appointed president of Agresso North America Shelley Zapp went a bit further in describing the North American future of her firm as she sees it: “Traditional ERP platforms were architected around processing large volumes of transactions, often at the expense of information management. Agresso offers the U.S. market an alternative to constant re-architecture.” That alternative is called Agresso Business World and is currently in release 5.5.

With a focus on organizations in transition, Agresso is deployed in 100 countries with more than 10,000 sites in 2,400 organizations and some 1.1 million users. Agresso Business World is a fully integrated financial system used by over 2,400 companies and organizations in over 100 countries. Agresso’s North American offices are in Victoria, British Columbia; Dallas, Texas; and Los Angeles, California. Agresso is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Unit 4 Agresso, which is headquartered in the Netherlands and employs approximately 2,300 worldwide.

Unit 4 Agresso is a producer of business software for service companies and organizations and supplier of security software reaching US $450 million in revenues in 2005. In November 2005, Agresso made news by bagging the largest contract in its history, signed with the UK Department for International Development for the delivery and implementation of a new software system with a value of over US $20 million.
