Refrigeration company revamps

Microsoft representatives were pleased to announce that mobile refrigeration manufacturer Waeco Pacific has revamped their ERP system with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The archaic legacy system at Waeco had reportedly “plagued all aspects of the company,” in management, ordering, stock control and dispatch. Operations such as stocktaking, stock control and communication had been done manually. Enter Microsoft.

After the Microsoft boys worked with Waeco IT folks and other employees from other departments in consulting, mapping, detailing procedures, outlining expectations, and creating work instructions with screen dumps for every task, the then project manager chose Microsoft Dynamics NAV from Microsoft Dynamics AX, to be implemented inside of three months.

The rollout began late last year across Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and New Zealand at a cost of US $250,000. With support partner Tectura, Waeco also implemented wireless infrastructure upgrading its administration complex and warehouse systems. NAV integrated systems from all departments and the company has since reported some improvement in efficiency, flexibility, elimination of human error and communication.
