Unilever outsources to IBM

Unilever will be outsourcing a major portion of its financial transactional services in more than 20 countries in Europe to IBM. The move is a part of the One Unilever program that intends to make the organization more competitive by streamlining the processes.

Financial services offered by IBM will include Purchase to Pay, General Accounting and Bill to Cash. These will be made available from IBM centers in Portugal, Poland, and India. The seven-year deal is expected to offer significant savings that will contribute to the target of €700 million savings per year for the One Unilever program. crmtoday says:

"This relationship is a strong example of the new on-demand business IBM is targeting in the marketplace for Business Performance Transformation Services."
