Salesforce.com and Facebook

As the recession struck, most companies were either busy licking their wounds or trying to minimize sales losses. However, this was not the case for social networking titan Facebook. During this time period, Facebook had reached such astounding sales growth that it become more than it could handle, so they turned to another organization for help. None other than the enterprise cloud computing giant, Salesforce.com.

Salesforce.com announced that Facebook had chosen their cloud computing CRM software to manage sales operation and to maximize the value of each customer.

Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, commented on the recent Salesforce decision. She said, “Facebook and Salesforce.com share a common vision for helping people connect and share information more efficiently. Salesforce.com’s cloud model was the perfect fit for us- with our current growth trajectory and future sales goals, we needed a product that will scale with our growing business.”

Facebook evaluated the decision of adding enhancements to its system, and even whether to utilize a cloud CRM solution. In the end, they decided the pro’s outweighed the con’s and they deployed Salesforce’s Cloud 2 technologies.Facebook couldn’t resist the benefits of the quick implementation, the increase in operating efficiency, and the scalability of the Salesforce.com platform.

The collaboration between these two power players is sure to benefit both parties as Facebook will be better able to manage and sustain their growth, and Salesforce.com will be sure to grow in the global market.
