Parature System Provides Kazaa Online Media Center to Journalists

Media Preview World’s Most Downloaded Software Through Parature

Reston, VA (August 11, 2003) – Parature Inc., an innovator of online support software, today announced that Sharman Networks Limited, owners & distributors of the popular Kazaa Media Desktop peer-to-peer file sharing application, have completed a successful online support project with Parature 5. Sharman Networks used the Parature online support system to provide journalists worldwide with information and beta copies of the recently-released Kazaa Media Desktop v2.5.

Sharman Networks (www.kazaa.com ) is pioneering the peer-to-peer revolution. The popular Kazaa Media Desktop software allows users to search, download, organize and interact with a variety of file types. In May 2003, Kazaa Media Desktop became the world’s most downloaded software, having overtaken the previous record-holder, ICQ, by reaching well over 230 million downloads.

In May 2003, Sharman Networks selected Parature to power the Kazaa Media Center, a password-protected extranet where journalists could access beta versions of Kazaa Media Desktop 2.5, as well as product information and graphics. Parature was able to design and deploy the Kazaa Media Center in just two weeks.

During June 2003, the Kazaa Media Center served as the nerve center for daily communication between the Sharman Networks public relations team and journalists covering the launch of the world’s most downloaded software application. During the project, the Kazaa Media Center served over 300 users and facilitated over 3000 page views of media inquiries to the knowledge base.

“Parature provided an effective way to manage our strategic communication with journalists for an important product launch,” said Michael Liubinskas, Head of Marketing at Sharman Networks. “We needed a secure and easy-to-use media center on the web with minimal hassle. Parature delivered the functionality we needed, and deployed our site quickly and professionally. This allowed our PR team to focus on the media relations effort instead of the infrastructure.” “

It is an honor to have been selected by Sharman Networks to power their PR extranet,” said Duke Chung, Chief Executive Officer of Parature.
