Amdocs Demonstrates Leadership Position in Mediation

Amdocs has won six new mediation projects and six additional customers have deployed Amdocs Mediation

ST. LOUIS (September 29, 2009) –

Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, continues to demonstrate its leadership in mediation with customer wins, deployments, and recognition by a leading analyst firm for strong market share.

Global Uptake of Amdocs Mediation

In the past year, Amdocs has won six new mediation projects and six additional customers have deployed Amdocs Mediation. Projects span North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, and include AAPT in Australia and Kazakhtelecom in Kazakhstan.

AAPT selected the Amdocs CES 7.5 mediation product to consolidate several legacy mediation systems across its different lines of business, and also deployed an Amdocs mediation-based revenue recovery product for faster and more efficient error handling across the revenue management chain.

“As our environment expands with new network technologies, we deployed Amdocs Mediation to support our significant growth in usage events and future business strategies, while achieving significant operational cost efficiencies,” said David Yuile, chief operating officer at AAPT.

A Leader in Market Share

Amdocs was ranked among the world’s top four mediation suppliers with the highest market share in a report published in July 2009 by Stratecast, a division of Frost and Sullivan. The report, titled: ” Global CSP Billing Part 3: Mediation Sector Assessment,” surveyed more than 40 mediation suppliers and indicates that four players, one of which is Amdocs, account for nearly half of the market with 12 percent market share each.

Service providers are starting to realize service usage data can lead to business opportunities that reach far beyond identifying what customers consume and how much they should be billed. “Among mediation market leaders, Amdocs delivers a solution portfolio that encompasses the full range of business and operational support systems,” said Karl Whitelock, senior consulting analyst – OSS BSS Global Competitive Strategies at Stratecast, a Division of Frost & Sullivan. “This places Amdocs in a strategic position to help service providers to capitalize on new mediation-based, business opportunities and drive the evolution of mediation as a significant tool for managing the customer experience.”

Mediation Innovator

Amdocs holds a dominant position among mediation suppliers that own intellectual property in the area of advanced mediation, having been granted more than twenty patents for its mediation technology.
Mediation is the process of collecting usage data, processing the data into information which is meaningful for different business and operational support systems, and distributing this information to those systems. Amdocs also offers a number of mediation-based products to help service providers manage business processes beyond traditional mediation, including products for policy management, customer experience management and customer assurance.
