Amdocs Achieves Number One Position in Global Billing Market for Fifth Consecutive Year, Analysys Mason Reports

According to analyst firm, Amdocs’ market share is triple that of vendor in second place

ST. LOUIS (January 19, 2012) –  Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that it has been ranked number one in the global billing market with a 28 percent market share, according to a report by leading analyst firm Analysys Mason(1). This is the fifth consecutive year that Amdocs has been named top vendor in this market.

According to the report, “Billing Systems: Worldwide Market Shares 2010,” Amdocs’ share in the billing market triples that of the vendor with the second-largest market share. Analysys Mason’s vendor analysis of more than 65 firms ranks Amdocs as a market leader in all regions and service provider service segments (mobile, PSTN, broadband, business), as well as the leading vendor in product-related services revenue.

“Service providers are looking to reduce the risks associated with implementing new billing solutions. They are choosing vendors that, beyond product leadership, have a strong service organization or offer pre-integrated solutions, or both,” said Justin van der Lande, lead analyst for Analysys Mason’s Billing research program. “Amdocs’ dominant position in the global billing market is evidence of its strength in both these areas and shows service providers’ confidence in Amdocs’ ability to deliver projects successfully.”

“For 30 years, Amdocs has been at the forefront of industry innovation. Our flagship charging and billing product – Amdocs Convergent Charging – has broken industry performance records with its innovative, real-time Turbo Charging technology,” said Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president of product and solutions marketing at Amdocs. “The recent acquisition of policy management vendor, Bridgewater, will allow us to continue to meet emerging industry needs by offering service providers pre-integrated charging and policy solutions so that service providers can implement their data monetization strategies.”

For the purposes of its report, Analysys Mason defined billing as comprising rating and pricing, mediation, partner and interconnect and business optimization.
